Thursday in Cambodia

Skip to the post on 9/11/13 if you'd rather see me talk about this day on video :)

We went to the palace with the intention of having a look around and maybe taking a tour, but were stymied when we found the palace was closed. They were getting the roads ready for Cambodian Independence Day I think. So we took some pictures from the outside and had a wander around by the river. Considered taking a river tour but the weather wasn't brilliant. In the end we found our way back and got chatting to a very interesting American man called Andy.

Andy is one of our favourite people we have met on this tour, he is such a character! Widowed and retired, but having the absolute time of his life in Southeast Asia, pulling sexy girls left right and centre and meeting new people all the time. It sounds like an awesome lifestyle for a guy in his situation to have. Plus he's a really chilled, cool, funny guy on top of it all, which sets him apart from a lot of the expats out here. He recommended to us that we go down to Sihanoukville on the south coast, so we booked a coach there through the hostel for the next day.

In the evening we bar hopped a bit, and ended up playing pool and then Jenga with two local girls in one such bar. Then we went home.

Got a bit into it
