Sihanoukville part 2 featuring the Bee!

Cambodian Independence Day was a good night! Sheesha and parties on the beach, nitrous, good music and atmosphere, we bumped into Holly and Emma AGAIN..

Anyway, we got up early despite our hangovers so that we could get our boat. The tuk-tuk was late picking us up which was making us worry, but it came eventually. Free breakfast on the way to the boat, and then another tuk-tuk to the boat itself. There we met Reika, a Hungarian girl, and her Brazilian friend whose name now escapes me unfortunately. They were nice to talk to but it was clear they were suffering after the previous night so we left them to their hangovers before long.

The first stop on the boat was just off from an island I forget the name of, for snorkelling and seeing the reef. So we swam a good long way from the boat to get a look, and it was beautiful. Really glad we did it, I've never seen anything quite like it before. It was all going swimmingly (pause to roll your eyes here) until we both managed to tread on sea urchins (those things comprised almost entirely of long spikes) which really hurts! We swam back to the boat having seen enough coral and climbed onto the roof. There we collected our courage, readied the camera, and jumped. I forgot to breathe in, as usual, so I sank like a stone. Excellent rush though! I did it twice because Andy missed the photo the first time, but I didn't mind.

After we continued on, I got talking to a fascinating girl named Bee (I have not yet learnt her given names, they are very difficult). In a nutshell, Bee was born in Thailand to Cambodian parents, has studied in Korea and worked in loads of different jobs, including as a teacher. Like me, she hopes to see as much of the world as possible. We talked until lunch arrived on the boat (pork and rice) and then the boat landed on Bamboo Island, where we were to spend most of the day.
First thing we all did was walk to the the other side of the island:
We almost got eaten by insects on the way!
Me and Bee
Then we arrived at the considerably quieter, more tranquil beach on the other side and jumped straight into the sea:
Brazilian and Hungarian girls
Bee and Andy
Eventually it was time to head back to the boat:
Bee and Andy
Considerate of eachother's sunburn
"Ooooooh"
We cast off, and the boat driver gave the three of us the chance to drive the boat!
Andy driving the boat!
My turn!
Help we caught a fish!
After the crew pulled their lines in, we prepared ourselves for one last tandem jump, kindly recorded by Bee:
Help we caught a fish!
We went back and washed all the sand off ourselves before heading out for dinner feeling a little less gritty. We ate a good meal at a place called Romeo's and went back down to the beach to watch the sea and smoke some shisha:
Help we caught a fish!
'Hey Andy, do you like ice cream?'
After we had our fill of that, we went to Gary the eccentric Englishman's bar, seeing as we enjoyed it so much the previous night. Bee wanted to watch us play pool for some reason, and then we were going to watch Arsenal vs Man Utd in the bar, but tiredness forced us back to the hotel room.
